Municipality Day, Festival of St. Anthony, 13 June Saint Anthony is the patron saint of the village and his saint’s day is also the day of the municipality. On Municipality Day, the people of Tučepi go to mass, and there is a large procession in the village. The remainder of the day is spent in a holiday atmosphere. If you are in Tučepi, then definitely try the roast lamb and enjoy the live music. Fishermen’s evenings As folk fun tradition typical for central Dalmatia, the fisherman’s evenings attract a large number of tourists. The fishermen from Tučepi prepare their fish specialities and offer them to the passer-bys. A cappella meetings, summer Traditional a cappella meetings start on the holiday of St. Anthony and last until the end of the month. Many of these meetings are held in the hall of the Bluesun Hotel Kaštelet. The a cappella meetings are very interesting for foreign visitors who can enjoy multi-vocal singing. Events in Makarska Makarska Town Day, 24 October Normally Makarska extends the Town’s Day for five or days in order to extend the post tourist season. Makarska Town Days include sports competitions, live music, performances by popular local bands and singers as well as a variety of humanitarian events. Events in Split Split City Day, 7 May Sveti Duje, as the people of Split call him, is the patron saint of Split and his holiday is celebrated on the City of Split Day. On this day a mass is held and a procession around the cathedral of St. Duje, which is in the centre of Split. The town of Split in the evening happily plays host to international and local music stars, and throughout the whole town there is a party and live music on the open terraces and cafés. Runjić's Evenings, August/September Zdenko Runjić composed some of the songs for the most famous Croatian musicians. After his death he left a huge gap in the Croatian music scene, and in his honour many Croatian musicians sing his songs in front of large audiences, which are followed by national and some international media and television companies. Split Summer, July – August The Split Summer is a cultural event with a long tradition, and visitors can enjoy renowned performances, operas, ballets and classical music concerts. Nautical Fair This is held in Split every year in April and each year attracts an increasing number of visitors and exhibitors. The Split area becomes a Mecca for one week for the most luxurious boats that take your breath away.
